LadyBlues (a.k.a. Hether Samuels) has been a part of the social dance scene since 1998. She learnt lindyhop, blues and salsa dancing in Boston, MA. She continued to take classes and also began meandering in Argentine tango when she moved back to NYC in 2001. She hopes to find the time to sufficiently improve her tango. LadyBlues has DJed these national dance events - Virginia Beach Lindy Exchange (VBLX), Dirt Cheap Blues; South Florida Lindy Exchange (SoFlex); Orlando Lindy Exchange (ORLX), NYC Blues Blaze, Holy City Blues, Connecticut Lindy Exchange; and, Baltimore Blues Summit.
She loves music whether it's jazz, blues, soul, R&B, Reggae or rap. She enjoys being transported through music. Where music and dance meet LadyBlues has particularly strong feelings - the music must be good! That's why she decided to get in the DJ mix. To play good blues music to which dancers will want to dance. She continues to develop her music collection and DJ wherever she can. She also DJs for lindyhop and soul-swing.
